We monitor sites above and below the Poplar Point stream restoration. Because there is only flowing water during or after rain events the data is skewed. We have no idea why the water was super oxygenated in March of 2015, but we do know that the reading is possible during an algae bloom. Several other sites also had high readings at that time. We stopped monitoring this stream in 2017 because the downstream site was too much influenced by high tides, while the upstream site did not have consistent water flow. We were hoping that the monitoring would prove the effectiveness of our restoration methods, but the realities of field research interfered.
